This week has definitely thrown me for a loop. Hurricane Sandy kind of put everything on the back burner this week as it has for everyone on the East Coast. The devastation is astounding and heart breaking. It certainly puts things in perspective and makes you realize what’s important in life. All of the wedding planning was put on hold in preparation for hunkering down and being prepped for the storm. It truly is amazing what you can get done when you think you will be losing power for a few days. I cooked, cleaned, and caught up on all my laundry. Today, I woke up and hit the ground running. I feel energized and ready to tackle everything! I sent out e-mails to clients, crossed off a few tasks on my wedding to-do list, and am feeling organized. I am headed to the gym this afternoon after a few days off and am ready to tackle my own workout and challenge my clients. I have my Bridal Bootcamp this evening as well as a new client! Hope you are all having a great week!
Between working on the welcome bags and reception details I found an awesome paleo recipe. It’s no secret that I love cooking and always have. I think I must get it from my mom because she is an amazing cook. I enjoy finding and testing out new recipes. I have been following several paleo blogs for cooking ideas and wanted to share this one with you. These bison burgers with bacon apple chutney are so delicious. John and I both loved it! Try it out and enjoy!
Wow! I have been really bad about blogging lately because I have honestly been so busy. We are in the final stretch with just over a month to go. Between work, last minute details, and running around the days keep on flying by. John and I have been really focused on enjoying this last month of our engagement and all the excitement of these final days.
This past weekend, I had my second dress fitting and it was a success. I always feel a flash of nervousness right before I put the dress on in fear it may not fit. I feel like this is pretty normal for most girls. I could totally feel a difference since the last time I slipped it on. One of my goals was really to get my eating in check with the paleo diet and I have stuck to it consistently except during my bachelorette party(oh hey, late night snacks). During the fitting the seamstress told me not to lose anymore weight. Losing weight has never been my goal it was more about building muscle and eating clean. Since, I started paleo in August I have lost a total of seven pounds. I think this is the perfect example of how eating is a huge component of losing weight. You can work out like a crazy person but if your diet is not where it needs to be you will never lose weight. Once you dial in the diet you start to see results. It’s amazing what cutting processed foods and dairy can do for your body. I am pretty happy with my progress so far and am going into the last month focused on core and arm work. It’s all about setting goals, staying focused, and working hard!
We are 60 days out from the big day! This past weekend we went to Las Vegas with friends and had a great time. Travel can certainly throw a curve ball in your exercise and diet routine. I realized before I left it would be hard to not cheat a little. I did indulge in a few drinks and some caffeine while there! Thank you Starbucks for the additional energy! I stayed on track with my eating and found myself not really wanting to cheat. Now that I’m home it’s back to the grind and getting prepared for the upcoming weeks. My bachelorette party is in a few weeks and I have my final dress fittings so it’s really important that I stay motivated.
This is the last stretch of the year for my clients and often the most challenging especially with the holidays coming up. Last week, I weighed in a client who was 27 pounds less than when she started in July. It was crazy exiciting for both of us. She has been working hard and it’s awesome when you can see it pay off. It was a great reminder of how happy I am helping people achieve their own goals.
I have been adding in a day or two of high intensity interval training and wanted to share it with you. Make sure you have a timer, towel, and some water. Enjoy and please let me know if you have any questions.
You will do each exercises for 30 seconds followed by 30 seconds of rest. Repeat for four rounds.

Have a great week,
